Romesco is a tomato-based sauce originary from Valls, a town near Tarragona (in Catalonia, North-east of Spain). The fishermen of the area originally made the sauce to be eaten with fish, but it can also be served with poultry, meat or roasted vegetables. A very versatile and aromatic sauce that combines the acidity of tomato and olive oil with the nuttiness of almonds and hazelnuts.  

 

Ingredients: tomato purée, olive oil (34%), nuts (almond and hazelnut), garlic, bread crumbs (wheat flour, water, salt, yeast), wine vinegar, spices, salt and stabilizers (xanthan gum).
